Malacological Museum of the Franciscan monastery was founded by Fra Jure Radic in 1963, with interesting exhibition of sea snails and shellfish of the Adriatic and the whole world today is the most famous Malacological collection in Croatian. In addition malacological collection of Fra Jure Radic, the museum holds a valuable herbarium of plants from mountain Biokovo and a small paleontological collection.
The museum is open to the public 30 of April in 1963. in the old Franciscan monastery, which is legally protected as a cultural monument.
From over 3000 samples exposed shells, in this museum you can see not only the shells of the Adriatic Sea but also many varieties of tropical and subtropical seas that are the most attractive colors and shapes of all the shells.
